The Effect of Sportsmetrics for Soccer on Performance and Knee Valgus during Landing in Female Players
Authors
Abstract:
Introduction: Dynamic knee valgus and poor technique during landing are not only key risk factors for lower extremity injuries especially knee injury, it also can reduce performance. Sportsmetrics soccer training is one of the successful knee injury prevention and enhancement performance protocols in female soccer players. But, the effect of Sportsmetrics soccer training has not been investigated on performance and knee valgus during landing in female soccer players. This study was done with purpose of investigating this subject. Methods: Present field-trial study consists of 24 female soccer players with dynamic knee valgus that randomly divided into two groups, training group (TG) and control group (CG). The assessment tests contain: T agility test, 40-yard test, vertical jump test, double leg squat test and valgus during landing error scoring system test. The TG participated in Sportsmetrics soccer training regularly for six weeks and three sessions a week about 90 minutes. ANCOVA test was used to analyze the statistical data (P <0.05). Results: After six weeks Sportsmetrics soccer training in TG not only reduced dynamic knee valgus during landing (51% reduction, F: 171.8, P: 0.01), but also performance factors significantly improved which these factors included agility (0.50s reduction, F: 23.29, P: 0.01), power (2.50cm increase, F: 13.20, P: 0.01) and speed (0.30s reduction, F: 23.66, P: 0.01). Conclusion: Sportsmetrics soccer training is strongly suggested to soccer players were exposed to knee injuries due to dynamic knee valgus during landing.

Effect of Soccer Specific Functional Fatigue On hip and knee Joints Kinematics In professional players during Landing
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of soccer specific functional fatigue on hip and knee joints angles during landing in professional players.15 soccer players with at least 2 years experience in Kerman soccer clubs were selected randomly. To evaluate the lower extremity kinematics following jumping and soccer specific- heading, three cameras (with50Hz) were used. To cau...

in the present study, the effect of e-64 at different concentrations (0.5, 1, 5 and 10 µm) added to (1) the ivm medium on oocyte nuclear maturation and developmental competence of ovine oocytes, and (2) to the ivc medium on embryonic development of ovine embryos were investigated.
Effect of Six Weeks of Progressive Jump-Landing Training on Jump Shooting Accuracy and Knee Valgus Angle in Male Basketball Players with Dynamic Knee Valgus
Objective: Dynamic Knee Valgus (DKV) causes many acute and chronic knee injuries during deceleration and landing in sports activities and can affect the athletes’ specific skills. This study aims to investigate the effect of 6 weeks of progressive jump-landing training on jump shooting accuracy and knee valgus angle in male basketball players with DKV. Methods: This is a quasi-experimental stu...
full textGround Reaction Force and Valgus Knee Loading during Landing after a Block in Female Volleyball Players
A non-contact anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury is both a serious and very common problem in volleyball. The aim of the study was to determine the association between stick, step-back, and run-back landings after a block and select risk factors of ACL injuries for female professional volleyball players. The research sample involved fourteen female professional volleyball players. Two forc...
full textValgus knee motion during landing in high school female and male basketball players.
PURPOSE The purpose of this study was to utilize three-dimensional kinematic (motion) analysis to determine whether gender differences existed in knee valgus kinematics in high school basketball athletes when performing a landing maneuver. The hypothesis of this study was that female athletes would demonstrate greater valgus knee motion (ligament dominance) and greater side-to-side (leg dominan...
